World record sniper abandoned and persecuted October 2, 2007

In 2002 Rob Furlong, and his support group of Canadian snipers, made a kill at an astonishing 2,430m – which remains a world record to this day. Hailed at the time as heroes, who had saved an American unit from being bombarded, they have since been reviled and prosecuted for wartime atrocities. All members of the unit have denied any wrongdoing, and now the military brass are finally investigating the persecutors, rather then the persecuted. Such a record, although slightly inhumane, should be revered and not attacked – and the people who carried such a hit out should be rewarded, rather than prosecuted.
