What the world eats June 5, 2007

Another interesting article on what foodstuffs are popular in differing nations around the world. 15 countries are covered, with some nice photographs of a representative family, and their grocery shopping for a week. I often find it amazing how much myself and Winnie can spend on shopping in one week, and when you compare this to what some families have to spend it’s almost embarrassing. However, living in one of the most well off countries in the world I think that spending £100-£200 per week on grocery shopping is not that bad really, but looking at the pictures in this article has made me wonder whether all that we buy is absolutely necessary and, whether we could get it cheaper elsewhere.
