Enertia house systems – free climate control May 29, 2007
Posted by Al in : clever, design, home , trackbackThe idea behind the Enertia house system is remarkably simple, yet promises to lead to virtually free climate control. The basis of the system is the use of massive wood walls with an air channel between them and the external walls. The wood in these walls acts as a heatsink for the solar heated external walls, storing heat during the day and releasing it at night. The air channel acts as an insulator as well as a path to a large basement which will pick up the ground’s natural temperature, and these air channels also provide a good place to run cables around the house.
All in all, this looks to be a good system. When I win the lottery I will consider this building system for my custom built mansion/villa. Until then I’ll just dream, and you can too once you’ve read up on it here.
