The history of dinner April 23, 2007

This is a really interesting article on the way meal times have changed over the centuries. For thousands of years dinner was eaten in the middle of the day, and supper was a light snack before bed. However, with the advance of wealth and lighting people began to move dinner to a later time and lunch became established as an intermediate meal. I find this kind of article fascinating, and I love to put myself in the place of these folk of 300 or 400 years ago. I can imagine what it would be like, and whilst I wouldn’t necessarily want to live during those times, I can appreciate how life must have been. Read more here, and learn more about our culture.
