Buddhist sand art – beautiful and transient April 5, 2007
Posted by Al in : art, weird , trackbackIt’s amazing that anyone would go to the levels of care and attention that Buddhist monks can give to a piece of art created in sand. Attention that reaches the level of placing individual grains to form a perfect mandala. What’s more amazing is that they do so knowing that once the mandala is created it will be destroyed and thrown into water to symbolise the transience of life.
