What the EU has done for us March 21, 2007

This list is based on a British viewpoint, however the rest of the world might want to pay attention as well. I used to be a staunch Euro-sceptic, and I’m still in favour of retaining the pound rather than switching to the Euro, however reading this list makes me wonder whether maybe embracing the European Union might not be a good thing after all. I am aware that the EU is a serious contender on the world stage, and that if we fully embraced it then Britain could benefit from even better bargaining power, but I still have this strange emotional attachment to the British currency, and a belief that too much common policy may benefit other EU states more than the UK. However I am still glad that Britain is a part of the EU and actively working in it’s government.
