Microsoft to support OpenID February 8, 2007
Posted by Al in : computers,Internet, website , trackbackNow this is a piece of good news for having one form of online authentication, rather than a million UID’s and Passwords. Microsoft are embracing the Open Source technology of OpenID and including it into their CardSpace initiative, which means you can use their ID system, or an Open Source system, and still get the same results. Sounds very good, but we’ll have to see how security stacks up for and against either system first – providing it looks good then finally everyone will embrace this ID system and you will only need to remember one password to access the majority of websites. Also OpenID carries your unique profile with it, so you can have one profile that is consistent across all the websites you have registered for.
