Hacking democracy November 6, 2006

Whatever happens in the upcoming vote in the USA, and in any number of further ballots afterwards, the only thing that is certain is that you cannot trust the result to be accurate. This is a remarkable film that all US citizens should watch, and everyone in any democracy anywhere as well to learn how to avoid this happening to them. The new machine based voting system in the USA is so screwed that you cannot believe any results that the system records. Watch this documentary and have a look at BlackBox Voting as well. I particularly like the fact that a granny managed to stumble across the most secret files of the Diebold corporation, including the code for the voting machines and all the manuals you would need to hack the machines with ease.
