Tesco sold pole dancing kit as a toy November 2, 2006

Tesco is definitely my number one store when it comes to shopping, for just about everything actually. They are pretty good on just about everything, and that’s what makes it hard to remember that at the end of the day they are a large corporation for whom profit margin is everything. And when you think of Tesco that way you can just about understand how they could market this pole-dancing kit under their Toys & Games section of their website. This did cause a bit of concern to a number of people, and so now the pole-dancing kit is only available under Fitness Accessories which, strangely enough, has become the home for this game of strip poker as well. I’ve never though of poker as a fitness activity myself – maybe the aftermath of a game of strip poker, but never the game itself. You can read more about the outcry in the Daily Mail.
