UK spiders bite too October 7, 2006

It is commonly assumed that spiders in the UK don’t bite. Everyone assumes that if you’re unwilling to pick up a spider and casually carry it around before chucking it out then you are a wimp and simply scared of spiders. Well this may not be true as there appear to be some documented cases of UK spiders actually biting and harming humans. What’s worse is that a number of exotic species are gradually becoming naturalised into the UK, after arriving in fruit and vegetable shipments from abroad, and some of these can be quite nasty. I have just been in the garden and picked up what i thought was a common spider. when i held it, it proceeded to grab hold of me with black spincers and not let go until i pried it out of my hand.
My handis really swollen and very itchy, thats why i am on the PC trying to find out what it is,
