Google Earth images to be improved September 15, 2007

Just to continue with the Google theme: Digital Globe, who provide the images used in Google Earth and Google Maps, are going to launch a new, improved satellite on the 18th and another one will be launched next year. This is good news for all Google Earth fans, such as myself, and will add to Digital Globe’s already massive archive of images. What’s more impressive is that Digital Globe is still a privately owned company, albeit with close ties to the Pentagon, which holds some of the best military information in the world today with it’s archive.

You can watch the launch live as well, here.
