Chinese firm’s buyout of Seagate alarms US August 26, 2007
Posted by Al in : computers, politics , trackbackThe largest and most powerful nation on Earth is also extremely paranoid. The USA is likely to attempt to stop a Chinese firm buying out the hard disk manufacturer Seagate, as this may allow the Chinese the option of controlling, and possibly reading and manipulating the data on those hard disks. It is probably not too hard for the American government to be paranoid about such matters as they have their programs to read all emails into US based accounts, as well as web usage, and they are also supposed to have forced Dell to include a key-logger in their recent equipment. If you are the type of government that monitors its populace that closely, then you are bound to suspect other governments of doing the same, and also of trying the same on your people.
