Thai police shamed by Hello Kitty August 6, 2007

This is an idea that would probably work almost everywhere, except for Japan. However, given that this is in Thailand, where most of the men want to be women, this might not be quite as effective as elsewhere. The concept is simple: if you’re a Thai policeman and you commit a minor infringement of the code of conduct, then you will be made to wear a Hello Kitty armband, and you are banned from telling anyone what you did wrong. This is supposed to shame any wrongdoers into righting their ways, and would probably work in a more macho society, but I’m just not convinced it will work in Thailand.
