Spaceship Two explosion kills 3 researchers July 30, 2007

Spaceship Two, the big brother of Spaceship One, is currently being built and tested in the Mojave desert in California. Whilst running standard engine part tests last week a sudden explosion ripped through the lab and killed 2 employees instantly, and injured 4 more – one of whom has now died. This is probably not such great news for Virgin Galactic, as Spaceship Two was intended to be carrying passengers into space next year. It’s not yet known how much of a delay this explosion will cause, but it’s probably not done the confidence of potential customers much good.
