Antibacterial wallaby milk May 13, 2007

It appears that the milk of some marsupials, Wallabies mainly, may contain a new form of antibacterial agent that will work against MRSA-style bugs. This compound seems to attack the bacterial membrane, resulting in the death of all bacteria it contacts within 30 minutes. Since it is so fast, and works in a brand new way, this drug may lead to far better treatment of infections, and may help to reduce the amount of MRSA-style bugs on hospital wards.
