White Glove Tracking – why?? May 5, 2007
Posted by Al in : bizarre, website , trackbackThis has got to be one of the most pointless projects of all time, and yet it still managed to get 5 minutes of my attention and time. It’s a site that is dedicated to tracking the movement of Michael Jackson’s white glove during his TV performance of Billy Jean, many years ago. The idea is that rather than write a whole load of code to do this tracking, any Internet user can visit the page and highlight the glove’s position in a frame of the video. This is rather like Folding@Home, but completely pointless. Go here to track that white glove.

It’s a relatively simple demonstration of “crowd-sourcing.”
