Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. January 29, 2007

If this really is the key to a healthy lifestyle, and to increased health and longevity, then it really is very simple. Eat food – that means real food, and not pre-processed crap. Not too much – self explanatory, but still doesn’t stop people like me achieving weights that are far too high. Mostly plants – this is the biggie for most people. meat should be treated as an occasional side dish, and not the mainstay of a meal. I have previously read about how we eat far too much protein, in the West, and how this leads to kidney failure and colon problems. Whereas a mainly vegetarian diet will help your health and provide all the vitamins and fibre you require. I think I’ll try to cut down on my meat consumption thi year.
