Beyond Belief – science takes on religion January 17, 2007
Posted by Al in : politics, science , trackbackIt’s good to see the Atheists of the world starting to fight back against the many religious extremists out there today. The scary thing is that religion, in all it’s many forms, is increasing in popularity yearly. This goes contrary to what you’d expect, as science has become bigger and better, and technology is everyone’s best friend. However there has recently been a noticeable drop in the number of children choosing math and science as their primary subjetcs, and this is going to lead to a drop in progress in the next couple of decades. It is possible that kids now find science too complicated, possibly because they actually have to work, and learn, in order to make any kind of progress in these subjects. Still, back to the original reason for this post – Beyond Belief is a website covering a conference of atheist scientists who think we need to act before religion stifles science completely (just look at Bush’s idea of vetting all scientific research). I’ve donated – how about you?
