Coal powered cars could be the future December 24, 2006

Think of coal-power and you think of steam engines and thick dirty smoke. However liquid coal is different: it burns cleaner, it’s reasonably environmentally friendly and being a liquid it can power internal combustion engines without any problem. Liquid coal has been around for a while but has always been too expensive, however rising oil prices have changed that and the race is now on to get liquid coal to the pumps. It’ll probably take 5-10 years to get the infrastructure in place, but once it’s there liquid coal may well be the future for planes, trains and automobiles. At least until fusion becomes a reality.
