America is no longer #1 September 28, 2006
Posted by Al in : politics , trackbackWell it wasn’t hard to see that coming, was it? With their economy suffering, property prices freefalling and foreclosures rocketing, a negative balance of trade and billions of dollars being spent overseas in a war that nobody really wants what can you expect? So now America have lost the respect of the rest of the world for their foreign policy (which boils down to if they are foreign they are wrong) and are about to lose the “respect” that wealth can buy as well. According to this article they are now #6 in the world economic rankings – quite a slump.
Who’s to blame? Well I did have a small diatribe to go here, but have decided that it was not really worth it, so I’ll leave you to lay the blame on anyone you like. But ultimately the American people may need to look at how their government is financed by businesses who have their minds set more on making a quick buck rather than the good of the nation as a whole.
