How to disarm a gunman at close range September 26, 2006

Well I would never advise trying to disarm a gunman at long range anyway. However it is well known that having a gun pointed at your opponent lulls you into a false sense of superiority and unless very well trained this will slow your reactions. This lack of reaction is what would make this possible in real life, although I would probably not advise trying this unless you have practiced a lot or you are facing certain death. (If you are interested in this kind of thing then you really should read the Quiller books by Adam Hall – Quiller is a spy who never carries a gun and uses various martial arts and psychological/physiological knowledge to defeat armed opponents regularly)

That technique looks like a very practical way to disarm an opponent. Are there any simpler ways to disarm someone, or a way to disarm someone with two handguns?

I’ll be sure too remember this if I have a gun pointed at my head. Though I’ll do my best to actually avoid any gun incidents…
