Mazu Kan – non-interactive fighting August 17, 2006

Here’s a strange idea, but one that may just work. Mazu Kan is a fighting game where you can punch your opponent without actually hitting them. it uses a set of gloves connected to a backpack which resembles those used for laser gun fighting, but instead of firing a laser at your opponent you punch into the air and they will be hit unless they block your punch. What makes this even more unique is that it uses a wireless connection so you can punch through walls and around corners, which is probably cheating in my book.

As you progress then you can level-up on both your attacks and defence, but I still have my doubts whether this will work as a game. I have an abiding image in my head after reading this: have you ever seen the Spongebob Squarepants episode where he and Sandy practice their Karate? If you have then you’ll know exactly what I mean. For those that haven’t you can also imagine Inspector Clouseau and Kato in their apartment.
