Gumstix – very small computers December 2, 2005

You can’t get a PC much smaller than gumstix. This is an entire Linux PC, complete with IO options, on a very small card. You can expand it’s memory with an MMC card and I’m just very impressed. Not sure what it could be used for – but hey! it’s cool.

The .org gumstix site has a bunch of stuff people are doing. Dig through the site to the wiki and people have posted about even more stuff they’re doing with them there.

If you speed up and run then the music will change to match you, if you end up strolling aimlessly then so will your music selection. You can also change tracks by just changing your gait deliberately, so you don’t even need to fumble with buttons. I think this is an excellent idea which deserves to make it into the market – I can see people striding purposefully through the streets marching to rock anthems, running to dance music, or strolling to ambient trance.
