Absinthe may have made Van Gogh paint in yellow October 3, 2006
Posted by Al in : interesting , trackbackAn interesting and educated article on how drug abuse, of digoxin, absinthe and camphor oil, may have caused Vincent Van Gogh to see the world with a yellow tinge. This would explain why his paintings were predominantly fond of yellow in his later years. The article also covers the scientific side of these drugs and shows the plants they are obtained from. I never knew, for example, that absinthe was related to Taragorn.
