I’m not sure what is worse about this video: the woman being interviewed, who is obviously so indoctrinated that she really believes it is good that innocent people die because they lack her belief; or the hosts who refuse to let her speak, call her a nut and retarded and who fail to provide any form of impartiality at all. Whichever is worse, they are both a sad indictment of the current state of American life.

It’s well known that the recipe for Coca-Cola is a closely guarded secret, and that few people can every manage to come close to the actual taste of Coke itself. However, this article doesn’t just describe the people who are attempting to do just that, it also details the recipe and gives step-by-step instructions for making your very own Coke alternative. Given that we have a recession on our hands, and that homemade Coke might be cheaper than “the Real Thing” then this might be worth a go if you just can’t live without some form of Cola, or if you want to know that you are in control of the ingredients used.

If you were struggling to mingle with the “in-crowd” in the sixties then you might have needed the useful resources available on this record. Although, as mentioned in the first few seconds of the record, trying to be hip by buying a record teaching you to be hip is possibly the most un-hip thing anyone could do. However, it is rather funny and I enjoyed listening to it – see what you think

Wim Delvoye – weird artist, clever website

I’m not sure I like this guy’s art, although some of it is definitely more to my taste than the rest, but I rather like the way he has designed his website. He’s built a nice orthogonal 8-bit town to provide meaningful links to various aspects of his work. His Art Farm is clearly visible as a farm, and his more scatological pieces are hinted at by having a toilet to click on. Definitely a clever way of presenting your work to the viewer.

Offroad madness

Not a lot to say about this other than it involves a lot of offroad vehicles: bikes, buggies, jeeps and trucks; racing and leaping around dirt tracks. I’d like to know whether this inspired Motorstorm for the PS3, or whether they played the game and thought “Hell yeah! We can do that!”

If you’ve ever fancied flying across an Arctic landscape to the sound of Jean Michel Jarre then your luck is in. Electric Oyster are a design team keen to show off their Flash based talent, and this is how they would like to do so. I found it quite relaxing, and I’ve always liked Oxygene or Equinox – whichever the track is that is played during your flight. Have a look here and see if you like it too.

The advantage to taking on the smaller roles? Lots and lots of roles available for you to take on. I doubt there are many other well known actors with a resume as long as Michael Madsen’s. 162 films to date, and a further 47 where he appeared as himself – that’s quite a lot of films. The Drum Buddy

This is an interesting take on a musical instrument: a drum machine/sequencer controlled by light and a rotating drum. I’m not sure how useful it would actually be, but it’s quite configurable, so there are always options.
