Tony Jaa is a martial arts god, and if he’s directing and starring in a film then it has every chance of being better than average. If this promo is anything to go by then Ong Bak 2 looks to be something to look forward to later this year.

Hollywood has tried to paint the world of war and conflict as one where America rules, and saves the rest of the world from certain domination or destruction. However, there are other views on the world of warfare and this list is quite educational – there a are a few films in this list that I might be interested in watching after reading about them. But what is best, in my opinion, is that they rate Zulu as the number 1!! If you haven’t yet seen Zulu – shame on you! If you have seen it before, but not recently, then it’s time to watch it again. It is, quite simply, bloody brilliant!

This is a nice piece of work. It reminds you of all the best bits from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but makes it seem so much more dramatic – and it works very well.

Top 10 Jackie Chan fight scenes

I wish this would show more of each fight scene, but hopefully it will inspire you to go out and get hold of all Jackie Chan’s films and watch them over and over. Nobody has ever come close to Jackie when it comes to fights with a comedy element, and very few could beat him in a serious fight either. Watch, enjoy, go get the films.

50 top movie fight scenes

Note that the title for this post is not “Top 50 movie fight scenes” as this list misses out on some fights that really should have been included. Any of Fist Of Legend‘s fights would beat most of these, then there’s the the classic alley scene from Sha Po Lang, there’s nothing from Ong Bak, and the finale from Game Of Death should be listed as well. Still, it’s not a bad list, and there are some good fight scenes to watch, so check it out.

Ryan vs Dorkman 2 – ultimate lightsabre duel

Ryan vs Dorkman was a cult hit when it was released 18 months ago (indeed, I blogged it here – if you want to the the original). Now it has got better, with more flash and effects, and lasts for almost 10 minutes as well. Worth a watch, even if the 2 protagonists could do with a little more choreography.

Werner Herzog gets shot during TV interview

This is remarkable footage: Mark Kermode is interviewing the great German film-maker Werner Herzog, and during that interview he gets shot by an air rifle, or a .22 at long range. His reaction is magnificent, especially when you see that blood has been drawn later.

Mission Zero: an expensive advert

Uma Thurman appears everywhere these days; which is no bad thing as she is still utterly gorgeous. Here she is in what must be a very expensive advert, as it’s virtually an action sequence from a film (although not a great film). At the end I was unsure quite what it had to do with Pirelli P-Zeroes, as this would have been a better advert for Lamborghini. Still, it’s worth a watch just for Uma.
