Google’s buses changing housing patterns March 12, 2007

I always find it amazing how big Google has grown in the last 10 years: from just one among many search engines it has grown to be the biggest search engine, the biggest online advert supplier and also provides some of the best PC applications for free. Google has also become well known for being the best company to work for, with it’s laid back hours, playfully designed office spaces, free food, free gym, free massages etc. Now their free shuttle bus service is one of their main selling points to new recruits, and is causing a shift in house buying as people try to live within easy walking distance of one of the shuttle pick-up and drop-off points. How long before Google start to provide free, or subsidised, accommodation for it’s workers, I wonder?
