The shape of trucks to come? December 30, 2006
Posted by Al in : bizarre,transport,weird , trackbackI very much doubt whether there are any real truckers out there who would welcome trucks that look like these trucks do. However I can see the benefit of close coupled, streamlined trailers, and I would imagine that the savings in fuel would be enough to tempt haulage firms to invest in them. However I cannot see any real benefit in the shape of the trucks displayed in this post – admittedly the windscreen wiper design is funky (and just happens to mirror a Mercedes badge), however I cannot see any real economic advantages to the shapes displayed, they just look very ugly really. Still if they can be proved to save 1MPG, or more, then it would prove uneconomical not to use them in future.
