The lengths we go to to save some mice October 7, 2006

It’s good to hear some heartening news some times, and this is quite touching. On a remote island of Scotland the National Trust has been working hard to maintain the island and it’s populations. Not just it’s human populations but also it’s mouse population as well. When they decided to remove rats from the island they carted 150 wood mice off to a local zoo for safekeeping, and now that the rats have been removed the mice are being introduced back into their native habitat. Although we humans are a destructive race and generally work against nature it’s pleasing to see that we can make an effort to look after our natural heritage as well.
